How to solve today’s Wordle.
Wordle, wordle, wordle. It’s kinda crazy that I’ve been writing this daily Wordle guide/column for over a year now. I started sometime in January 2022, and here we are on the second day of February 2023. My time flies when you’re solving word puzzles.
Wordle is one of those rare cultural phenomena that grabs everyone and for a very brief moment catches everyone’s attention. When it was at its peak, I often remarked on what a strange, unifying force it was. People from all walks of life, any race or religion, any political party could play it the same way. The same word for everyone. one a day
There aren’t many things like that anymore these days. Everything is shared. Everyone has camp somewhere, and no matter how much the idealists wish it could be better or different, the cold, hard reality is that, for some reason, our divisions define us more than anything else. It often seems that believing in something is much less important than believing that you are right and better and so on you are uniquely evil and stupid.
I’m not sure I’ve shared that wonderful old John Cleese monologue on extremism here before, but I think it’s just as relevant today as it was then – if not more so. Please:

Today’s world
I’m feeling very good – and more than a little happy – about today’s Wordle. Things got off to a bad start with magic (do she Do you believe in magic?) which left me with a staggering 355 possible solutions. Ouch!
That quickly took a turn for the better likes, which severely limited my options, leaving me with only nine to choose from. I went ahead and made a guess after coming up with a few different possibilities and to my great surprise I was right!
shirk was definitely a lucky guess with so many options remaining, but I like to think of it as the work of unbridled genius and unparalleled acumen at solving word puzzles. Hey I even beat Wordle Bot who got his in four. That’s 1 point for guessing in 3, 1 point for defeating the bot, and 1 point for being so damn good. Was just a joke! Only 2 points overall but that’s still a double huzzah! HUZZAH! Maybe a shot Hip hip hooray! for good measure.
